Step-by-step guides for people who definitely don’t do this for a living.  Side effects may include less stress, more time for yourself and looking good in front of your friends.

Let’s face it—planning an event can feel like trying to assemble IKEA furniture without the instructions,

frustrating, confusing, and possibly resulting in a few broken pieces (or tears).  While you might have a squad of eager volunteers ready to jump in, getting from point A to point B can be a challenge.  Sure, you could spend endless hours Googling “how to plan an event” and trying to sort through all the fluff—but let’s be real: how much is your sanity worth?

Enter blu kee, your trusty sidekick in the chaotic world of event planning. We provide free resources packed with event ideas, tips, checklists, and more. But the real superheroes are our step-by-step Event Planning Guides. These gems are designed to help you create and execute a successful event without losing your mind—or your sense of humor.

Our Guides are like the Swiss Army knife of event planning: they contain only the essentials you need to know, spiced up with a bit of humor to keep things light. Plus, they come with downloadable editable documents to keep you organized—because starting from scratch is so last season.

Whether you're bursting with creative ideas and can’t wait to dive in or feeling overwhelmed and alone (cue the dramatic music), blu kee is here to save the day! Well, not really, but you might feel like a superhero once your event is a smashing success.

Got questions? We’ve got answers—yes, even for those queries you didn’t know you should ask!

"It made me aware of a lot of the details that go into planning an event that I had never even considered. More importantly, it lays out a clear process for making sure that all of those details are accounted for."

About

Picture of Kim Ruggles with Event Staff

Over the years I came across many potential clients that wanted to hire an event planner but had no idea the costs to plan an event, the amount of time it takes to organize it, much less how much event planning services cost.

Let's just say it was an educational moment. I still wanted to help and be a resource, it just took a bit of time to figure out how to do just that.  So blu kee (a variation of my brother’s nickname for me) is my solution to help volunteer-based organizations create and enjoy planning an event.

There might not be a budget to hire an event planner, but "the show must go on." So skip the stress, spare your budget, and let’s take the charity event from “meh” to memorable.
